"I am a mother and grandmother and describe myself as a people person.

I have a vast experience of working for local and national voluntary sector organisations including Shelter, RAFT - working with homeless young people, children's charities, NHS and charitable community mental health groups, Macmillan Cancer Support trainer and contact, and have had two professional careers as a police officer and a social worker.

I am passionate about the need to maintain balanced and sustainable communities and organised a successful conference at the University of Kent on this subject,

Now a councillor for the St.Stephens area, I am NOT afraid to put my head above the parapet in support of those I represent. I am very committed to residential homes being a home for life, so people are not traumatised by being forced to move at a time when they are at their most vulnerable.

I am also very aware of the need to address the social and educational needs of the young and am committed to creating opportunities that will take them off the streets, steering them into fun, meaningful activities, away from crime, substance abuse and teenage pregnancy.
