"I am married with four children, one just starting university, and have lived in Herne Bay since 1986. I have worked as a teacher in local special schools for 25 years. I have been an active member of the Herne Bay Lib Dem Focus team for 18 years and am currently a Liberal Democrat Councillor on Canterbury City Council, representing Greenhill and Eddington. Unlike the current County Councillors, I live in the town.

As I have lived in Herne Bay for many years I am well aware of the problems Residents in the town face. I want to be able to find out first hand what, if the County Council is doing anything, for the town.

I will work on behalf of the people and be the LOCAL voice of HERNE BAY at County Hall. I hope to be able to influence any future plans and spending for the town."

"I have felt for some time that Herne Bay appears to be the poor relation to Canterbury. I was particularly incensed at the closure of our Visitors Centre, despite the whole town being against the closure. The Lib Dems have very much championed Herne Bay. The current Tory councillors have only paid lip service to the wishes and needs of the town and its residents and then ridden roughshod over us. Perhaps that's because they don't live locally?

Kent County Council have been firmly reprimanded for having had £50million tied up in failed Icelandic Banks, despite being warned against such an action by the Treasury. They gambled with taxpayers' money, and The Chief Executive of Kent County Council earns more than the Prime Minister.

I have questions to ask, on your behalf, at County Hall when I get there!"
